Veterans Service Officer outreach event

The post will be hosting a Veteran Service Officer Outreach event at the Price Chopper in Platte City on March 14, 2026, from 10AM to 2PM. VSO will be onsite to discuss VA and other US Military Service-related benefits with the citizens, veterans and members of the local community. The representative will also be there to assist eligible Veterans with filling out application forms as appropriate.

Day of Service

Post Day of Service will be May 2nd this year, plans are being made for activities to be performed during the day. Stay tuned for announcements.

Spring Buddy Poppy events

The post will be out at the local Price Chopper handing out Buddy Poppy's and meeting the community - this will take place on May 15-16 and we will also be down at the Walmart on Barry Road on May 23rd. Please stop by while you are out and about.

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where he served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.
