Marc Turner
Jr Vice Commander - Army

Marc Turner served in the US Army for 25 years retiring at Joint Base Lewis McCord as the First
Corps Master Gunner. Enlisting as a Stinger Missile Operator serving up to a Team leader prior
to being selected for recruiting duty. Transitioning to an Infantryman in positions from Squad
leader through First Sergeant and serving in Master Gunner positions at Battalion through
Corps level. Additionally serving in instructor, Observer/Controller, and Foreign Advisor
positions.
He has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Inherent Resolve with
deployments to Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. His awards include the Legion of Merit,
Meritorious Service Medal (5th award), Iraqi Campaign Medal, and various other medals.
 
He joined the VFW in 2022 at Post 4055 as a life member and has served as the Post Adjutant.
He resides in Platte City with his wife Leann a educator at PC Middle School. His oldest child is
a 1st Grade teacher in Columbus, GA and has a child at PC Middle school and PC High School.
